Bio

Laura Salas Redondo (Havana, 1988), lives between Havana, Paris and Biella.

She began her studies in Art History at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana and later obtained her degree in the Catholic Institute of Paris. She continued her master’s studies at the Paris-Sorbonne faculty (Paris IV) in the option of Contemporary Art. Since 2014 she has worked as an independent curator with artists such as Michelangelo Pistoletto, Daniel Buren, Anish Kapoor, Nikhil Chopra, Shilpa Gupta, etc. And also with young Cuban artists like Jose Yaque, Alejandro Campins, Susana Pilar, Reynier Leyva Novo, among others.

She curated various projects for the 12 Havana Biennial. Collaborates regularly with Galleria Continua (San Gimignano / Beijing / Les Moulins / Havana) specifically with its headquarters in Cuba.

Since August of the year 2015 has coordinated the embassies of Rebirth / Tercer Paraíso by Michelangelo Pistoletto and in particular has developed the project in Cuba. She was the curator of the two editions of the Forum Rebirth “Geographies of transformation” in Havana (2015 and 2016), leading the laboratory (cantiere) that results from each of these events. Director of the editorial project “Cantiere”, a publication of Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto that is developed in Cuba to accompany the project Third Paradise of Pistoletto.

Laura was the co-curator of Pistoletto’s personal exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba in November 2016.

She curated in May 2017 the personal exhibition of the Cuban artist Susana Pilar in Venice during the 57th Biennial at ICIVenice. Organized the edition of the Forum Rebirth 2017 “Geographies of Transformation” by Michelangelo Pistoletto in Havana. In October of 2017 curated the exhibition “Soy Cuba?” in Milan, Italy and in December of the same year  the exhibiton “The Invisible Cities” in Havana, Cuba, both collective exhibitions.
